HAVING A BAD MONTH….WHAT IF?
The last month has been trying. Just when I believe the virus tide has turned and people are back in their office, wham. Another delay and more of the same waiting game.
So when I had lunch with a friend and she mentioned I might try the “what if” questioning of events and outcomes, I thought, what have I got to lose. Any mindset was better than the one I was stuck in at that point.
Here is how this works. First, begin reviewing your calendar. Then, ask yourself “what if” and follow that up with a good and happy outcome for every activity. Not only something that could but dream a little and add a bit of flourish.
Let me provide this example. I own a business in Tampa. Next month we have a lot of pressure washing scheduled. The “what if” I have listed is this. What if the jobs scheduled become regular customers, and what if we hire another technician. What if this is our time to solidify our brand. What if the new sign on the building captures a large media group, and we get outstanding media coverage!
Do I have any idea if these what-ifs may happen? Unfortunately, no. But I know it keeps me open to possibilities that I was closed to before.
My lunch friend recommended that I sit down and write a “what if” list later that day. So I did. I covered a couple pages of “what ifs.” Covering a bunch of interests, both personal and business. And I felt lighter and happier.
Now, for the challenge.
What if every person who reads this post creates a “what if” list. Imagine the feelings of happiness. No one can predict what may transpire.
