The Best Interview Question

Hiring is a catch-22 so darn many times. Even with all the filters and screenings and online tools available 24/7, we often get it wrong the first or second time.

What if there was a perfect interview question? It depends on the position, you say? Maybe, or does it?

Through research, which I define as input from friends, a courageous insightful, and neglected, possibly a minor general interview question is: what book are you reading?

And what if the interview took off from there. From the book read. There are automatic questions about genre, story, characters, actions, author. Countless insightful questions arise from this one: what book are you reading?

And if you haven’t a workable knowledge of the book, all the better. More questions and inquiries and details, the unknown confidence of a good hire is in the details.

Not only is the job seeker involved in the interview, but this person is also now offering description, interest, story development, and outlining the book with pleasure. A perfect way to build a comfort zone, create openness, allow walls to crumble, and the safety of being ourselves is all that matters.

And what is your professional role during this time? You are the observer directing the interview with a razor focus on this person. What advantages and benefit to hiring the right person the first time.
